"Durgapur Society for Education and Advanced Research on Community Health" established the "Paramedical College" namely (i)The Institute of Paramedical & Therapeutic Sciences and Technology,( IPTST ) & (ii) Paramedical College- Durgapur (PMC) at Sector 2A, Bidhannagar, Durgapur - 713212, Dist: Burdwan, in the year 2002-03.

The Institute runs the following degree level courses: "Bachelor of Physiotherapy", "Bachelor of Optometry & Vision Science", "Bachelor in Hospital Management", "Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology" & "B.Sc. in Nutrition". Apart from these Bachelor Degree the institute runs "Masters in Physiotherapy".

Durgapur SEARCH is getting help from the professional experts and the University to design the most up to date curriculum so that new generation of Physiotherapist and Optometrist & Hospital Administrators will come out of this Institute and serve the people with full experience of their profession.

These professional courses being offered by the Institute have good prospects of job opportunities and scope for this independent professional approach. I am confident that successful students of this Institute will be able to build their career to face challenges in these modern fields.

Already the Institute is running a highly specialized Physiotherapy Clinic and Eye Clinic containing sophisticated equipments, which will also be beneficial for the student of this Institute and to the common people of the society.
