Bsc. (Hon’s) in Nutrition and Dietetics :
Nutrition is a vital aspect of physiology. The metabolism of the human body depends on the nutritious diet that regulates growth, nurturing and maturity of life. Nutrition presupposes intellectual precision, perfect perception and meticulous cognition. As a field of study, B.sc (Hon’s) in Nutrition and Dietetics brings into limelight a new approach to paramedical enquiry that aims to felicitate epistemological research and professional practice.
Course Objective:
Nutritional experts can prepare therapeutic diet chart for disease prevention and health promotion. Moreover, using the knowledge of Nutrition we could formulate Nutrition community programmes, develop nutritional policies and help evaluate its mothodology of implementation.
Job Prospects:
Nutrition encourages teaching profession in schools, colleges and universities in health sector, there is a huge demand of nutritional experts/dietecian for therapeutic values and remedial measures. There is a vertical expansion of this course upto Ph.D level in university system. The nutritional experts may join different industries for the analysis of the formulated food stuffs. Research opportunity of this course is growing day by day covering the modern field like “Nutrigenomics, Nutriproteomics, Nutrimetabolomics, Prebiotics, probiotics and Nutraceutical Research”. Among the “ Food and Nutrition Board of Govt. Of India”, there is a huge demand of manpower having sound knowledge in Nutrition, Community Nutrition etc. As Dietary Counsellors, a nutritionist may join different health sectors or even practice as private profession.

Eligibility : 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Nutrition/ Biology .

Nutritional Physiology, Nutritional Bio-physics and Bio-chemistry,Human nutrition, Community Nutrition, Food Science, Food Nutrition and Health,Applied Nutrition,Nutrient Analysis of Food, Community Nutrition Survey,Community Nutrition Programme Assessment, Food Microbiology,Hygiene and sanitation, Public Health and Epidemiology, Meal Management etc.
